Mafalda accepts a dinner invitation from Felipe. Little did she know that he had plans for her. The Prophet reports on her arrest.

After her discussion with Narcissa, Mafalda takes a moment to decide her next move. In her hunt for other muggle borns, she visits a book store and meets Mandy. She then meets with Percy to discuss the North Pole battle.

The recent breakout leads Mafalda to make a resignment for one Auror before she headed out and take care of business. The Ministry demands the wolf be capture. To keep up appearances, Mafalda attends the Yule Ball.

Turning to Neville for some help, Mafalda was able to obtain a plant she needed. Draco asked Mafalda for a favor, which she could not completely fulfill. Her discussion with Anthony only added to her future plans for the MLE department. After testing her tea on Felipe, Mafalda knew she was ready for the prison inspection.

Mafalda visits with her son at the Quidditch game. She enjoys dinner with the Malfoys and after reading a report from Azkaban she has a new plan to get Athena off her back.

Mafalda met with Athena about Kingsley's case and she went shopping for some plants with Neville. She sent an owl off to Athena in the hopes to prolong the investigation.

After a body is found at Gringotts, Marcello calls for a Department meeting of the MLE, which Mafalda begrudgingly attends. She notices Cho having a bad day, prompting Mafald’a maternal instincts to kick in. Marcello dies suddenly and Mafalda is temporarily appointed head of the MLE department. After her reassignment, she celebrates with brandy and fire. And as promised, she owls Athena in the hopes of finding Marcello's killer.

Mafalda’s youngest son dropped a bomb, which lead her to the Leaky in order to spy on him. Instead, she met Penelope. In a rash need to learn more about the bride-to-be, Mafalda cornered her daughter in order to get some answers. Having learned that Felipe would be bringing his finacee to the Bell’s fundraiser, Mafalda set out to meet the witch who wants to steal her youngest away.

Upon the death of Kingsley Shacklebolt, Lucius visited Mafalda for some speculation on the next Minister of Magic. It wasn't until Tiberius' swearing in ceremony that she has her first encounter with the new Minister. He suggested a meeting, which Mafalda decided to take him up on. After picking a fight with Ogden's assistant, she set up a time to meet with the Minister. She also received an invitation for a benefit that she positively had to attend.
